“Overall, the 200M and 200M-C from Typsim are a great addition to all the microbrand divers out there. The small touches like the riveted bracelet, the lume that naturally ages and the use of acrylic really showcase the brand’s attention to detail. Yes, some may not like the use of acrylic as it can scratch easier than sapphire, however one must also note, scratches on acrylic are much easier to buff out. With that being said, the package being presented here is still compelling and should have anyone buying into the brand quite happy with their choice.”
“I would say this: Typsim went above and beyond to find the appropriate materials and parts to mark the 200M. From the chronometer-grade Sellita caliber to the domed hesalite crystal, the frustrating yet solid link construction, a bespoke lume compound made by SuperLuminova that will patina over time, as well as the galvanized dial and hands and the military-grade knurling on the bezel and crown. That’s a lot to put in one watch, at least in my opinion.”
“How tired are you of “vintage inspired” watches? Whether it’s a brand “reborn” and dredging up old designs, or a new microbrand offering the cherished designs of yesteryear at incredible prices, it all seems stale. You can keep ’em. But not this one. The first watch from Typsim–the Typsim 200–is something better, something more. It’s distinctly vintage but feels modern, and is truly it’s own watch.”
“The dial on the…200M-C has such an incredible glow in many natural lighting conditions. It must be the combo of the inky black dial, gilt markers and acrylic crystal. Rare for me these days, I find myself staring at this dial a couple of times a day, flicking my wrist to catch that gold logo and markers glittering.”
